- Written by Grace T. Lefever
Of the quiet, green-robed glen
Filled my soul with a deep longing
For this peace to take back home.
There are times when we're so busy
That we rush from here to there,
Never stopping, never thinking
Of our Father's loving care.
Hiking to the Green Cathedral
Gave me time to look and see
All the minute growth around me
Magnified to a degree.
Rapturous joy just welled within me,
As I now beheld these sights.
Moss and ferns, fungus and lichens,
Colors changing in the light.
Tiny castles, snow-capped mountains
Were the things that come to mind,
And I felt my burdens lifted,
And my heart now filled with song.
