Yoga Nidra (Thursday 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm)

Discover the blissful art of Yoga Nidra, a progressive relaxation method that blends guided imagery, stillness, breathing techniques and body scanning. Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a time honored way to help ease physical conditions, such as headaches, digestive problems, PTSD, and more. It involves reclining with cushions and blankets in stillness for approximately 1 hour of rejuvenating rest. We strive to unravel mental and physical stress, and to arrive at the foundation of peace that lives within us all.

Color Me Brite: De-Stressing with Coloring (Thursday 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm)

Color Me Brite: Another holistic modality for dealing with stress. De-stress with coloring.

Sharpen your colored pencils and dig out your favorite markers because staying inside the lines isn't just for kids. Coloring gives people a creative outlet as well as a low-stress concentration and exertion with bright colors that can lower anxiety. Coloring also lets the brain free up thoughts to think about people value in life and divert energy into something constructive. Studies show coloring can have a calming effect on the mind and helps promote overall wellness. A study in the journal Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association found that just 30 minutes of an artistic activity, like coloring, is enough to reduce anxiety levels.

Come out and join the circle for an evening of fun, relaxation and color. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite coloring materials as well.

Sessions are held the 1st Thursday on these months: February, March, April, May and June.
Location: St Mark Lutheran Church, 129 Charles St., Hanover, PA 17331.
Please enter by Willow St. the red door entrance (office entrance) closest to the hospital. Park on the street.

World Biodynamics Day Volunteer Opportunity (Saturday 12:00 am - Sunday 5:00 pm)

From Sally Voris of White Rose Farm (visit website to contact Sally) in Taneytown, Maryland...

I am interested in participating in World Biodynamics Day on June 3 in the evening and on June 4, early in the morning. I would like some volunteers to help me. The regular volunteers who are most committed to helping at the farm with biodynamics have other plans. Would you be interested or know of others who would be?

Please let me know. We could stir and spray the BD 500 the evening of June 3, and then have a fire circle and community sharing.

The morning spraying is usually before dawn--so it is early--and I may be doing it by myself, though there is space available through the Retreat House to spend the night at the farm!

This may be a great chance for those who are interested in learning more about biodynamics and participating in its process!

Hope we can make this happen!

Sally

HPN Book Discussion Group & Bag Lunch (Monday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm)

Greetings Radiant Beings / Book Buddies!

The HPN Book Discussion Group and Bag Lunch meets at the home of Terry & Steve Klunk (497 Clearview Road in Hanover), from 10am-1pm, on the 4th Monday of the month. We’ll take some time to discuss the current book and have lunch together.

We are exploring:

DNA of the Spirit, Volume 1: A Practical Guide to Reconnecting With Your Divine Blueprint by Rae Chandran

Last month we practiced each of the Mudras and related sounds as we examined each of the illustrations that went along with them. We really had the energy moving! Some of the Mudras were difficult to do at first, but it seemed that it became easier as we held the position. It was a fun morning!

On June 26th we will be exploring Chapters 2 (The History of Human DNA), 3 (The Awakening of Crystalline Consciousness),  and 4 (Working with Energy to Raise DNA Levels).

Bring your thoughts, ideas and questions and your lunch and be prepared for an enjoyable en-lightening morning. And feel free to bring a friend!

We look forward to seeing you then!
